A collaboration between the BCIT Rivers Institute and the North Shore Streamkeepers with key involvement by the DNV and DFO to create a nursery for young salmon.
Problem & Scope
Off-channel habitat provides refuge for young salmonids during winter storms and summer droughts.
At this existing off-channel in Lynn Creek, near Inter River Park, low flows in summer led to young salmonids being stranded.

This site had been identified for enhancement in a study for the Ministry of Water, Land and Air Protection
North Shore Streamkeepers monitored water in the channel in 2017:
