Policemen's Helmet Pull July 4th 2023
Quote from CarolynneR on July 2, 2023, 3:38 pmYour help is needed on Tuesday July 4th to remove a forest of Policemen's Helmet (Himalayan Balsam) from the riparian area of Wagg Creek. This is a streamkeepers' event (no City presence), so note that you'll need to bring your own gloves and tools and a tarp if you have one!
When: 10:00AM-12:00PM
Where: Meet on the 21st St footbridge off Chesterfield Avenue. (Green Necklace) Plenty of street parking on Chesterfield.
Bring: Gloves, tarp (if you have one), water, sun protection. Other small tools if you want to tackle other invasives.
Recommended: Bug spray - Lower Mainland is on the tick/Lyme disease risk area map of the BC Centres for Disease Control.
Policemen's Helmet is delightfully easy and satisfying to pull. Those interested in the Metro Vancouver BMP can read here:
